We’re excited to be partnering with our alma mater Georgetown University and the Director of the Film and Media Studies program Bernie Cook, to offer an intensive 3-week course on documentary filmmaking in Florence next summer. We were both fortunate enough to study at the gorgeous Villa le Balze while we were undergraduates (way back when), and know that the immersive living and learning experience presents a perfect opportunity for exploring documentary storytelling. Titled “Italian Realisms,” the course will take inspiration from Italian Neorealism as an entry point to hands-on documentary filmmaking. If you’re an undergraduate university student (non-GU students can also apply), are passionate about storytelling and thrive on direct learning, then please apply (applications will open sometime in December)! We’re holding an information session on November 20th @3PM at Georgetown in the Healey Family Student Center Film Screening Classroom, so please stop by if you’re interested in learning more about the program.
