In our years of employment, we’ve seen our fair share of gifts sent by vendors to clients during the holiday season. One web design company sent branded Nalgenes filled with candy to every member of the communications team as a thank you for their contract. Another vendor sent hand-crafted chocolates in branded wood-burned boxes.  Beautiful presents indeed. But when it came time for us to think about sending a holiday “thank you” to our clients and the subjects in our independent films, we decided to go in a different direction: homemade. Eidolon Films is a small two-person company and our appeal to large clients is not our size and brand, but rather our quality of work, attention to detail, personalized service and passion for the mission more than the bill.

To reflect our style and local family business mentality, we decided to make a collection of homemade gourmet sweets.  We made a huge batch of Mrs. Field’s Chocolate chip cookies, a longtime favorite in my family. Next we made Aflajores, a delicious South American cookie filled with dulce de leche that we discovered in our travels to Argentina.  And finally, we made a savory treat of caramelized bacon cashews. We wrapped the treats in pretty cellophane bags with silver-coated twist ties and attached simple stamped labels. Nestled in white tissue and accompanied by hand-written notes, we sent them along in flat-rate boxes to arrive the following day.  Below are pictures from our day of baking this past Sunday.
