A freak stroke at age 34 leaves Joe vulnerable and requiring open heart surgery in order to survive. Confronting his mortality for the first time, he and his wife Julia decide to conceive a child in an act of hope. Joe becomes a father months before suddenly losing his own, and discovers how to live in the present. Through a series of intimate scenes and original animation crafted by Joe, this short documentary follows the couple on a journey through loss, love and life.
